Historic Agreement between OK and Danske Fragtmænd on Infrastructure for Electric Trucks

24 October 2024

With this agreement, Danske Fragtmænd is enhancing its efforts in charging infrastructure for heavy transport, marking the largest single investment in the field in Denmark to date.

OK and Danske Fragtmænd have just signed a major agreement to establish charging infrastructure at 27 terminals, enabling electric trucks to operate nationwide. Installation will begin in November at terminals in Hvidovre, Brabrand, Aalborg, and Sakskøbing.

"We are very pleased to collaborate with Danske Fragtmænd. They have set ambitious goals for green transition, and we are keen to help realize those by participating in establishing the necessary charging infrastructure," says Anders Skandbo Espersen, OK’s Sales Manager for e-mobility in heavy transport.

The agreement also includes charging stations for Danske Fragtmænd's company vehicles at their headquarters and on private premises.

Largest Agreement in Heavy Transport
With this new partnership, Danske Fragtmænd is intensifying its focus on ensuring a robust charging infrastructure that can support its growing electric fleet.

- At the end of 2023, our board decided to establish charging infrastructure at all terminals, and now we are ready to proceed. With 42 electric trucks on the way, it’s crucial that we invest significantly in accessible charging options at our terminals, supplemented by access to OK's public charging network. This will give our freight operators the confidence they need to transition from diesel to electric, says Gitte Kalmar, Purchasing Manager at Danske Fragtmænd.

The infrastructure will be built by OK’s subsidiary, GodEnergi A/S.

- This is an incredibly exciting project ahead of us. Our first and most important task has been to gain a thorough understanding of daily operations at the terminals. With this insight, we can soon set up a charging solution that ensures drivers can always hit the road safely and fully charged. This project is a complete solution, where we are involved from the initial discussions, drawings, and plans, the first dig in the ground, through to the installation and operation of the finished system, says Jan Darville, CEO of GodEnergi.

The agreement expands the long-standing partnership between OK and Danske Fragtmænd in fuel supply. The charging infrastructure is expected to expand further as Danske Fragtmænd’s electric fleet grows.
