Danske Fragtmænd Terminates Cooperation Following Harassment Case

9 March 2025

Danske Fragtmænd has today, with immediate effect, dismissed Ümüt Harc, and the collaboration with Fragtkompagniet will formally end tomorrow at the close of the workday due to a harassment case involving an employee at Fragtkompagniet. The case has recently been highlighted in the media, with audio recordings revealing behavior that violates Danske Fragtmænd’s code of conduct.

- Today, we have dismissed Ümüt Harc due to completely unacceptable behavior. We deeply regret that this decision has come so late. We regret this because we understand how distressing it has been for the employee at Fragtkompagniet to be subjected to severe verbal remarks, as can be heard on the employee’s audio recordings, says Chairman of the Board at Danske Fragtmænd, Bjarne Krogh Jensen.

The reason it has taken a long time to terminate the collaboration with Fragtkompagniet is rooted in the way Danske Fragtmænd’s contracts with the owners—the freight operators—have historically been structured. At the time these contracts were made, no one had foreseen a harassment case like the one that arose at Fragtkompagniet.

- It is a weakness in our contracts that they have limited our ability to take action. Therefore, at our general meeting on April 26, we will vote on a change that will address similar situations in the future, says Bjarne Krogh Jensen.

Establishing a Task Force to Ensure Better Handling in the Future

In addition to legally adding the possibility of terminating collaboration with owners/shareholders—which will make it significantly easier and faster to take action moving forward—internal discussions have taken place on how to best safeguard everyone at Danske Fragtmænd against similar incidents.

- As management, we do not have all the answers, which is why we have decided to establish a task force across the entire organization. This task force will present proposals on how we can identify problems like these much earlier, ensuring that they are addressed far more quickly and effectively, says Bjarne Krogh Jensen.

The employees at Fragtkompagniet are not at fault for the termination of the collaboration.

- Therefore, we would like to encourage all employees at Fragtkompagniet to contact our HR Manager, Hennie Toftgaard Pedersen, so we can discuss opportunities for other positions within Danske Fragtmænd, says Bjarne Krogh Jensen.

He also expresses his regret to everyone else at Danske Fragtmænd who is feeling the consequences of the negative publicity this case has brought.
