Price adjustment information as of 1 January 2024

The transport industry is once again facing challenging times, with many factors affecting transport companies, ranging from the downturn in economic activity to the green transition, the significant increases in collective agreements and high interest rates.

Last year, collective agreements in the transport sector were renegotiated, dramatically affecting our industry’s economy. The transport collective agreement (ATL) is the most expensive collective agreement renewal in the last 10 years, totalling around 7% for each of the two collective agreement years (2023/2024 and 2024/2025). It was agreed, among other things, that the standard hourly pay rate will increase by DKK 5.75 in 2024 and that we will increase overtime rates by 3%. Furthermore, pay rates for trainees and apprentices have increased by 3.5%. The increases are essential to retain and attract skilled employees and ensure fair compensation for their hard work. However, it also means an increased cost for operators, which needs to be reflected in existing pricing structures to ensure sustainable operations.

Like the rest of Danish businesses, we are also struggling to adapt to the new reality. Our financial obligations have increased, and opportunities for investment and product development are challenged consequently.

In 2021, we presented our first climate report and are actively working to transition our company to a greener business model. Among other things, we have purchased electric lorries and vans, switched to green power and optimised our freight flows. However, there is no doubt that the road ahead is long and costly and will continue to require huge investments.

Therefore, to support the process, we have decided to adjust our prices with a 2 % increase in the environmental surcharge for green initiatives and a general freight price increase of 5 %. In this context, we should point out that customers with particularly unmanageable goods orcontractual deviations may experience a higher price increase than the 5 % mentioned above.

If you have any questions about the above adjustment, you are welcome to contact your usual contact person at Danske Fragtmænd.

We appreciate your understanding of the challenges the industry is experiencing and look forward to continuing our excellent collaboration.
